Trenval Partners with Loyalist College for “Ask the Expert” Series

Belleville, ON – January 14, 2025 – Trenval is excited to announce an innovative collaboration with Loyalist College’s second-year accounting students to launch the “Ask the Expert” initiative. This dynamic program bridges academia and the business community, offering practical learning experiences for students while providing valuable support to local entrepreneurs.

The “Ask the Expert” initiative invites local business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to submit inquiries on financial, accounting, and business management topics. The questions are then reviewed and analyzed by Loyalist College’s second-year accounting students, who develop professional responses under the mentorship of Carol Coupland, an experienced faculty member.

Each student’s participation in the program is an integral part of their academic evaluation, emphasizing critical thinking, real-world problem-solving, and professional communication skills. The initiative not only reinforces classroom learning but also fosters connections between students and the local business community.

“This partnership exemplifies how academic institutions and business organizations can collaborate to create meaningful learning opportunities while supporting economic growth,” said Amber Darling, Executive Director of Trenval. “We are thrilled to engage with Loyalist College students and witness their talent and innovation firsthand.”

“The ‘Ask the Expert’ initiative is a transformative experience for our students,” said Carol Coupland, CPA, MBA Accounting Faculty at Loyalist College. “It enables them to apply their knowledge in a practical setting, preparing them for future careers while making a positive impact in the community.”

Trenval and Loyalist College encourage local businesses to participate in the “Ask the Expert” program by submitting their inquiries to adarling@trenval.ca.  “We invite businesses whether they are in the start-up phase or are seasoned entrepreneurs to ask questions and the answers will be featured in Trenval’s weekly e-newsletter as well as on the Trenval website www.trenval.ca”, Darling said.
