Trenval Business Development Corporation is a federally supported, not-for-profit Community Futures Development Corporation, administered by a volunteer Board of Directors in partnership with the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (https://feddev-ontario.canada.ca/en) committed to helping to develop and diversify the local economy through community strategic planning, business information, counselling and investment in small business.
Trenval has been helping local business thrive in Belleville, Quinte West, Stirling-Rawdon, Tyendinaga Township, Tyendinaga and Deseronto since 1987 and has invested over $45 million in small businesses impacting over 8,000 jobs through advisory services and investment resources.
Trenval purpose is to support local businesses through:
- Economic Development: To stimulate and support economic growth within the community, including the promotion of local businesses and industries.
- Job Impact: To assist in the creation, maintenance and expansion of employment opportunities for businesses.
- Entrepreneurial Support: To assist entrepreneurs and small business owners in starting, expanding, or improving their businesses with advisory, investment, education and other business resources.
- Partnerships: To support and promote the creation of partnerships in local and regional economic development and work with community partners to build a resilient and vibrant community, and contribute to the creation of jobs, growth and prosperity through strategic priorities.
- Diversification: To encourage economic diversification by supporting the development of new industries and sectors within the community.
- Social and Cultural Enhancement: To assist non-profit corporations and social enterprises with support to improve the economic future, well-being and quality of life of the community.
- Access to Capital: To utilize the Investment Fund by providing access to capital to assist all sectors of business and social enterprises resulting in economic impacts to the community./li>
