Ontario Truss & Wall, a manufacturer of engineered wood roof trusses, floor joists and beams, invested in their business growth and expansion with the purchase of a laser overhead and projector system. This technical addition was made possible through a contribution of $75,000 from Trenval through the  Rural Innovation Initiative Eastern Ontario (RIIEO) program funded by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev).

This investment advanced Ontario Truss & Wall‘s technological capabilities while also increasing the efficiency of its operations to meet higher demands for more customized manufacturing in the booming new home market and in new home construction. The upgraded technology in their production system has allowed the company to manufacture products that are customized, exact and built with quality. The upgrade also decreased setup time, which increase efficiency.

When speaking to the economic impact of this funding, Andrew Bryden of Ontario Truss & Wall stated, “Because this region is growing and this region seems to be in a slight crisis at this point where there are more home purchasers than there are homes available. This will speed up the market. It will allow builders to build additional homes.”
